There's a very particular sound a gun makes when it's fired at you. This sound is different from the normal gunshot sound. It's cleaner and more crisp.

I went for my first bike ride in Crete today. I rode to the beach. It was about a half hour ride down. I sat in a beach chair and listened to the ocean for about fifteen minutes before leaving. I got lost on the way back but it still only took an hour and fifteen, which is amazing because some of those hills were so steep that cars were barely passing me. It was a good ride though. When I got lost, I ended up in the 'woods' and there were a bunch of dove hunters out there. The didn't like me there so they took pot shots at me to scare me off. If I could ride like that in races, I'd win every time.

I never realized how much it stinks here. This place STINKS... I don't know if it's the geep poop piled up on the sides of the road or the fact that no one here ever bathes or washes anything or anyone.

I need some new parts for my bike... My Pedals are plastic and worn down so my feet slip when I change gears. The worst thing though is my seat post. The grips are warn smooth so the saddle rocks almost freely forward and backward about 10 degrees. Two degrees can be the difference between downy soft butt cushion and a nut grinding vice, so you can imagine my pain.

I forgot my camera too, which sucks because I left at twilight so I was on the cliff over the ocean at sunrise. Would have been some amazing pictures.
